You haven't included some key information. What version of PowerPoint? It
sounds like you are using PowerPoint 2003. Did you use Package for CD, or did
you use Package to Folder?

What did you burn to the CD? The root directory of the CD MUST contain the
autorun.inf file. If you used Package to Folder and moved the "folder" to the
CD, that is your mistake. Only move the CONTENTS of the folder to the CD. See
the distinction?

I am running PowerPoint 2002. I have copied the contents to a the folder
and burned it on to a CD. I hava also followed these instructions listed
below:

Once I created the cd I ran the Play.bat file, and the viewer did start.

I have created the the items listed below:

[autorun] open=pptview.exe /S /L playlist.lst
Save the file with the name autorun.inf.

@pptview.exe /S /L playlist.lst
Save the file with the name play.bat.

Lastly, I have made the changes to the items listed below:

/S "Greeting.ppt" "Presentation1.ppt"

Greeting.pptPresentation1.ppt

Thanks

The problem is probably the autorun.inf file. It should be a file with two
lines of text:

[autorun]
open=pptview.exe /S /L playlist.lst

The way you have created it will not work.

Do other CDs autorun when inserted in your PC? You may have autorun turned
off on your PC.

Hi Sonia,

I have recreated the autorun as you suggested
and I have recreated the play.bat as well, and recreated a new cd. When I
click on the play.bat file the presentation runs. But the cd still does not
run automatically when I put the cd in the drive.

[autorun]
open=pptview.exe /S /L playlist.lst

Are all of the files in the root directory of the CD? The autorun.inf file MUST
be in the root directory.

Hello,

I have attempted to create a "autorun cd" I have followed all of the links
via the microsoft websites. I have tested the play.bat file and it works. I
burned the files to a cd and re-inserted the cd hoping that the cd would
loadup based on the autorun but it did not auto start.

Thanks for your assistance,

You haven't created your CD correctly. The major problem is that you haven't
unpacked your presentation. Looks like you've used Pack and Go, but didn't run
the .exe file that was created to unpack the files in pres0.ppz.

You might want to look at
http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/acdpc.htm for software that
will do the job for you flawlessly.
