Hope someone has seen this before, when typing any URL
and pressing enter, example- http://www.yahoo.com (enter)
the link immed.changes to - http:///? www.yahoo.com

this happens on any site web i type. ran spybot 2.0
and removed all software that spybot deemed trouble-some,
ran norton 2003 virus check using latest virus definitions
and found no virus. ran repair on windows xp professional,
reinstalled internet explorer, ver 6.0 128bit, reset I.E.
To all defaults, still no help.

I can ping from a dos prompt any web site and even
installed netscape communicator and this program allows me
to get to web sites but apparently some program has high-
jacked Internet explorer and is redirecting it.

Notes:Before working in this machine, the user had kazaa,
morpheous, mysearch toolbar (internet explorer), have
removed the programs above using spybot. Checked under
registry
hkeylocalmachine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\
run but nothing unusual here, just normal startup progs.

any help would be very appreciated,

collin

If the user had Kazaa, use this fully rid of the pest.
http://www.merijn.org/files/kazaabegone.zip
<snip>
A Kazaa uninstaller which scans and removes all elements of all
Kazaa versions, as well as all of the bundled software that comes with it.
</snip>

Run SpyBot again, run "Hijack This", run Cool Web Search
"CWShredder" http://www.merijn.org/cwschronicles.html
http://www.merijn.org/files/cwshredder.zip

"Hijack This", info and download here:
