HTM to HTML?

When building web sites using Front Page 2003 Web Site templates
and choosing (foe example) the Corporate Presence Wizard, all
the pages are HTM. How can convert the whole site to the HTML
extension?

I know that I can manually rename each page to the HTML extension,
but I’d like to start building the site with the HTML extension from
the beginning. How should I do it?

I do no have experience building web sites, buy I believe that HTML
is better than HTM just in case I decide to add some fancy effects
or web components in a near future. Am I right?

I’ll appreciate any help regarding this matter.

There is no difference. Don't sweat it!

Google returned this:
.htm is a throwback to the DOS days, of 8.3 long filenames. People started
designing web pages in Windows 3.11 but couldn't save their files as .html,
so they decided on .htm. They forgot to correct this muck-up, and that's why
these prehistoric .htm file extensions are still around. Also, Frontpage,
Dreamweaver, and other "WYSIWYG" editors use default.htm instead of
index.html, saving files with the .htm extension. The use of "default.htm"
matches the quirk of Microsoft's Web servers.
It does not matter what file extension you use, as long as your Web server
sends out the content-type header with "text/html". Of course, many pundits
consider the .html extension to be "purer", and in a way, it is.

There is no difference in functionality between .htm and .html pages.

Depending on your host, the index page may need to be one or the other
to work properly (initially ALL the pages on my main site were .htm but
FP converted the home page to index.html when I transferred from an NT
server to a Linux/Apache server (both with FP extensions installed).
