HP 5110 Series- SYSTEM ERROR ESENT (wuangeng.dll)?

Hello,

I ran into a problem trying to print from an HP Pavillion 5260US model to an
HP 5110 Series all-in-one-printer where it says there was a system error
occured, please restart your computer etc... I restarted...still getting
blank pages.

I ran the Windows auto- fix error program in the C: Properties > fix
problems (with a restart) and tried to print and all I get is blank pages. I
reinstalled the drivers etc with the 5110 disk and have things in the print
que, but they will not even start to print. I have gone through all
troubleshooting steps and still nothing is happening!

I went to the HP help and support center and have the following error
message:

ESENT
wuaneng.dll (2436) SUS20ClientDataStore: The version store for this instance
(0) has reached its lmaximum size of 4mb. It is likely that a long running
transaction is preventing cleanup of the version store and causing it to
build up in size. Updates will be rejected until the long-running transaction
has been completely committed or rolled back. Possible long-running
transaction: SessionId:0x01680320 Session-context:0x00000000 Session-context
ThredId: oxooooo93C

If I go into the START . PRINTERS & FAXES menue it says the hp Officejet
5110 STATUS is "ready"

Also, I have noticed a new file (program) in my desktop shortcuts at the
bottom called desktop.ini -- I am not sure if this has anything to do with
this problem, but NOTHING is working to get these items printed. I have
restarted the machine several times and am out of ideas. Any help is greatly
appreciated!!

I am running XP Pro SP2 and the new MS AntiSpy program as well, but have
printed since the anti-spy was installed.

Thanks.

Hi, Duane.

Have you tried simply unplugging the printer, then rebooting at least once
to let WinXP "clear its head" and forget that it ever had a printer
installed? Then shut down, plug in the printer and reboot? This lets WinXP
re-detect the printer and install the driver for it.

Some printers - and some from HP are like this - insist that you install
their drivers BEFORE you plug in the hardware. Read your HP instruction
manual to check if your printer requires this. Go to the HP website and
look up your printer model. Get the latest (likely newer than the version
on the CD that came with the hardware) and greatest driver package for WinXP
and your specific HP model. Then, don't try to correct past errors; delete
them and start over. Just uninstall the printer, if it still exists in
Control Panel | Printers and Faxes, and physically unplug it. Install the
driver package. Then shut down, plug in the printer, and reboot.

HP printers generally offer lots of "bells and whistles". (My OfficeJet
G-55 All-In-One is like this.) Generic drivers built into WinXP usually
will run the "mundane" functions of the hardware: we can print simple jobs
without HP drivers; OE and PhotoShop can import scans, etc. But to get the
full array of functions that we paid HP for, we need the multi-megabyte
software package that comes only from HP, not from Microsoft. And we have
to install this package strictly according to HP's detailed instructions.
In some cases (including mine), we have to go through a complex process to
remove the old driver package before we can install the new one. :>(

Thanks much. We'll give it a try before a system re-install...I've worked
with Hp FOR 6 HOURS and that is what we are looking at. Thanks again.
