How to uninstall NIC

I have a notebook that has an internal network card with both WiFi and
Bluetooth capability. I am unable to establish a satisfactory connection to
my wireless router using 802.11G and Bluetooth dosen't work at all.

I disable the NIC in Device Manger and put a wireless adapter in my PCMCIA
port and it works great. However I have an error message in Device Manager
that says my Network Controlleer isn't being found.

I have a Bluetooth dongel that I would like to install. It pairs vey nicely
on my other notebooks so I would lke to install on this notebook therefore I
am trying to uninstall Bluetooth. I went to the Install/Uninstall Software
facility in Control Panel and did not find Bluetooth. Maybe because I
disabled the NIC. I performed a search for Blutooth and found it on my hard
disk and deleted it from the hard disk. Next I used Regedit and tried to
delete from the Registry. I was unable to delete Bluetooth from thegistry in
a couple of places.

What should I have done? I tought by disabling the NIC that would be OK.

What should I do now? Do I need to open the case and remove the NIC? Do I
need to completely remove Bluetooth from Registry before reinstalling it?

Bluetooth is a hardware device - Add/Remove hw dialogue
But since you've now probably broken the connection you may have to
reinstate, before you can then remove

You havent updated drivers for your laptop from win update have you?

I had the same problem. I had to disable my internal NIC in the
computer's BIOS in setup, at the beginning of a boot.
This action automatically takes it out of the Device Manager.

Thank you for replying to my post.

I tried but failed to disable the internal card.

I pressed the Start button and immediately pressed the Tab, and Del keys.
This allowed me to enter the BIOS utility. On the Advance tab I found an
option for wireless. I changed the setting from Last to Disabled. After
doing this I had no wireless connectivity at all. Before making the change
the 2WIRE Adapter in PCICMA slot worked beautifully. I renetered BIOS utility
and changed the setting back to Last. I still could not get the PCICMA
adapter to work.

I opened the case and removed the NIC card . After doing this when I pushed
the Start button the machine was dead. I reinserted the nic and connected
the cables, and Started the notebook. It booted.

When I look at the Wireless Connection the PCMCIA card has the driver used
by the internal nic. What a screwy deal.

Jerry, When I boot, how can I slow down scrolling? Maybe I am not finding
the NIC in my BIOS because I am only viewing a summary portion.

In my bios,
Onboard Devices > Integrated NIC > OFF / ON / ONwPXE / ONwRPL
(PXE and RPL are used if you are booting from a server).
Sounds like your NIC and Wireless hardware are somehow bound together.
Wish I could Help.
