How to turn off computer automatically

Until few days ago, when I shut down computer, the electricity
automatically turn off, but now when I shut down computer it
says, "You are now safe to turn off computer" and I have to
physically switch off computer. Can some one tell me how to
restore to the original condition? I use Win XP Professional. (
As you can see I am new comer.)
