Hi, I have a Compaq Armada E500, and I can't install XP on my Laptop, I
tried to make it by using I386 on my new disk without any success, some
message telling me that "Windows could not copy files smlogcfg.dll
,msexcl40.dll, msrepl40.dll" are prompting when trying to install, I tried
with more than 5 XP CDS and finally I conclude that there might be some
compaq firmware missing ( in order to disable disk caching and Writing
ahead) could somebody help me finding this utilities for XP Compaq?

You went out and purchased five separate copies of XP?

Is this a clean installation or an upgrade? If an upgrade, from what O/S?

Try using the XP that belongs with that computer and all will go fine.
Trying to get a pirated version to work isn't likely to succeed for you with
an OEM situation like that.
