How to enable DMA? Advanced Settings tab is missing.

I was trying to enable DMA (Direct Memory Access) for my
hard drives, following the directions on the Microsoft
website. However the "Advanced Settings" tab in
the "Primary IDE Channel Properties" window (found under
Device Manager) is missing. The same thing happens for
the "Secondary IDE Channel Properties" window. Why and
how to solve this?

I am using Windows XP Pro, SP1.

Actually one of my harddrives does not have DMA enabled,
that's why I wanted to change that in the first place. If
the Advanced Settings tab is missing, any other way to do
this?

Also how do I check the DMA status of the current drives?

Thanks.

If you have the Intel Application Accelerator (look in Start >
Programs)installed the Advanced tab will not show up. You then manage
DMA thru IAA.

Well no I just tried it and you can't manage DMA, but you can modify
the Acoustic Management settings.
