Need to enable DMA on ATAPI device

Just added a 60G hard drive as Device 1 on primary IDE
channel. Device 0 runs in Ultra DMA mode 2, but Device 1
is running in PIO mode. I have uninstalled the driver--
still doesn't work.

On the secondary drive, both devices are running in Ultra
DMA mode. How can I get Device 1 to run in Ultra DMA
mode?

XP will run the device at the highest "reliable" transfer rate - if
the device is rated at a transfer rate faster than it is current
running, you most likely have a hardware error with that device.
