HOW TO: copy other users temp IE files?

I have a couple of users that I have been asked collect surfing histories
for.
When I go the TIF folder the user has a Content.IE5 subfolder that the files
are stored in. When I open that folder I get my own internet files. If I use
an non-Microsoft tool to see them, there are a totally different set of temp
files (that users by the cookies). but everytime I copy them my files show
up. How can I copy off that users temp files.

remote PC has win2k with IE6 and all recent updates (through July).

Are you using the User Name in the path that points to the IE5 history
folders?

eg. C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\History\History.IE5
or a UNC?

Oh... your looking in the wrong folder... Your looking at the Tempory
Internet Files folder instead of the History Folder. See the path above for
the location of each users HISTORY folders. Don't forget to logon as an
Administrator.

Rob, Thanks for the response.

(By the way I am having to do this remotely unless I want to make a 2.5 hour
drive to get the data.)

So, I am logged in as a network admin and looked in the path you mentioned.
All I see are various folders with only INDEX.DAT in them. Using NOTEPAD I
get SO much data that pulling out what I was asked to collect is almost
impossible.

I was also asked to get the actual temp files like images that this person
had been viewing, and not just a trail.

Any other ideas?

Puzzled ...

I just mapped a machine on our network as:
Z:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\2D6527UZ
where Z=\\host\c$

and I have no problem seeing (or copying) any of the user files to my local
drive ... IE is happy to show them to me as well ..

fwiw,

Dave
