How to clear address list completely?

Everytime I type a letter into the address toolbar in internet or windows
explorer, a list of document names and some URLs will automatically appear.
These URLs don't appear in the address bar dropdown list but somehow they
will appear when I type in a letter. How do I get rid of this list?

I've done a clearing of History, cache and temp files, disc cleanup,
registry clean up, spyware removal, cleared my recently viewed files, etc.
The list of URLs in the address bar would clear off but that list of
filenames and URLs (mentioned above) just won't clear off/stop appearing. How
do I stop this without having to disable autocomplete?

Hi,
These URLs you're seeing are in the index.dat file in the History folder.

CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/ should be able to clear the History
and the index.dat file. Just check the appropriate boxes and run it.

Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will be created when
you restart.
Or the History folder can be deleted manually:
