How do I turn off wierd symbols showing up after words in email?

I must have hit a ctrl key by accident. Now me emails all have wierd symbols
after words. Does anyone know how to turn this off? Thanks in advance for
your help.

Start a new email, go to the Tools menu > Options command. Go to the View
tab and see if any of the "Show" options is selected for things like field
codes or formatting codes.
