How do I get rid of "logged on" screens?

I am the only user of my computer, but Windows professional forced me t
enter my name as a user when setting up. Consequently, whenever I com
out of stand-by or hibernation I see a "logged on" screen and have t
click my name to get to the desktop. A minor annoyance, but a
annoyance nonetheless. Can anyone kindly tell me how to get rid of it

Thanks!

Start | Run, type "control userpasswords2" Select the account you want
to logon to automatically. Then uncheck the box "Users must enter a
user name and password to use this computer."

Or do the same thing with TweakUI.

To stop having to log back on when the computer comes out of standby or
hibernation do the following.

Go to Control Panel and double click Power Options.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Remove the check mark from the box next to "Prompt for password when
computer resumes from standby".
Click OK.

Note: If you also want to avoid having to log back on after a screen saver
runs, do the following.
Go to Control Panel and double click Display.
Click on the Screen Saver tab.
Remove the check mark from the box next to "On resume, password protect."
Click OK.

Good luck

....and make it that much easier for someone else to gain control of your
computer. Maybe someone in Bulgaria, or China, or Belarus...or around
the corner.
