How do I create an Index with both Capital & Lower cse words?

I am trying to create an index in word and it will only index the lowercase
words.
If I tag both the lower and upper case words then they show up twice in the
index.

You must edit the XE field to do what you want. When you create an index
entry from, say, "Father," you must edit the XE field to say "father."

Can you suggest an Automated way to do that in a large document?
When you create an XE field I would think there should be a ingnore case
option.
