Hourglass

All of a sudden, the little (waiting) hourglass, keeps flickering on and off even when not waiting for something. Is there anything I can do to remedy this. It's by now means crucial but it is extremely annoying and distracting. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It's waiting for something, spyware perhaps?

I ran 3 spyware apps before I posted. Adaware, Spybot and Microsoft Anti
spyware (beta). No help (no spyware either showing in all 3.) Appreciate
your attempt at humour though! Anyone else have a potential solution?

Do you have any processes that start up at regular intervals, software that
monitors anything? Ctrl-Alt-Delete should show you what's running at any
given time.
