hotmail error 0x80040604

For the past 2 days I have been getting this message for my Inbox, Junk
E-mail and Sent items folders. None of them will download into Microsoft
Outlook. I have had no problems for many years.

Task 'Hotmail: Folder:Junk E-Mail Synchronizing headers.' reported error
(0x80040604) : 'An unknown error has occurred. Please save any existing work
and restart the program.'

Please explain...

I had the same problem some time ago and a technician at my ISP gave me the
following URL which gives a description of all these OE errors and possible
troubleshooting hints. (if this community forum doesn't allow pasting in
URLs, for security reasons, then I suggest that you go to Google and type in
"OE errors" and I think you'll find a site with an index/directory that I'm
talking about.)
