highlighter during presentation

Hi all:
Today I saw a presentation where the speaker used a a highlighter to put
emphasis on some lines while powerpoint was on presentation mode. I tried to
find out how to do it to no avail. Is this something built into powerpoint?
or is this a third party add on? Any help to find out how to achieve this
will be greatly appreciated.

You can draw on the screen while in slide show mode by pressing Ctrl+P to
display the pen (you can set pen default colors in the Tools-Options dialog
box). Then use the left mouse button to draw as you would in a graphics
program. When you are done, press the E key to erase the drawings. Press
Ctrl+A to retunr the cursor to the arrow and press the A key to hide it.

Emphasize a hyperlink with highlighting or a soun
You can only apply highlighting to object hyperlinks such as pictures and shapes. You can apply sounds to text and object hyperlinks

Select the text or object hyperlink.

On the Slide Show menu, click Action Settings.

Do one of the following

To apply the action settings when the object is clicked, click the Mouse Click tab.

To apply the action settings when the object is pointed to, click the Mouse Over tab.

Do one or both of the following

To play a sound, select the Play sound check box and then specify the sound you want.
To highlight an object, select Highlight when mouse over or Highlight click.

What I saw was they presenter right clicking (I think) on the PP
presentation screen and the cursor changed into the shape of a highlighter
and it was yellow in color. Then he proceeded to highlight actual text on
bullets. It seemed to me that the highlighter moved freely around the screen
(no straight lines), so it was posible for example to highlight and X shape
from corner to corner on the screen and the highlight would follow the
mouse, not the text. But then, it could be an application from a third party
doing this.
