ok, i just got a new laptop with windows mail. I like to send pictures using
my photo program (so i can send a small size picture). On my old computer
this would be done with outlook express. i have dsl through qwest, and
they can't help me, they say I need to download outlook express to set up
outgoing mail. It seems this new microsoft vista should be able to do this.
Any ideas?

What is your photo program?

All you have to do is setup Windows mail as your mail program (Tools |
Options | Add | Mail) and that should work. You can also get
www.irfanview.com to resize and that is free.

We both use DSL via Qwest, but that is irrelevant. And you do not need
Outlook Express, as Windows Mail supersedes it in Vista.

I often right-click on a saved image, then SEND TO|MAIL RECIPIENT. This
attaches the image to a new mail message, using Windows Mail, and offers
a choice of sizing options. If one has already sized the image with
another program, then "original size" is the correct choice.

Have you tried this method? What specific problem did you encounter?
Error messages?

Under Control Panel|DEFAULT PROGRAMS|Set Default Programs|Windows Mail,
verify that Windows Mail IS the default mail program.
