Ever since I ran the antispyware, my computer says that it
can't find the program~\newdot~1\newdot~1.dll. newdot
popped up as spyware and I thought to get rid of it. Now
I can't use my computer. How can I restore to original? I
can't even ope the Microsoft AntiSpyware now either.

Hi

- Start in safe mode, press F8 during restart and scan,
choose full scan

- Restart in normal mode

- Remove Newdotnet with this:
http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html

- Download/install/run Ccleaner

http://www.ccleaner.com/

- Download/install/run Lavasoft Adaware.

Thank you,

It kinda fixed it. I still couldn't do anything on my
computer after re-running scan. It did show up again as a
spyware.

But since I had forgotten that in safe mode you can
restore system to previous time. Yeah !!! I restored my
comp to yesterday morning.

Thank you for responding and now I can relax. Whew!!!

Stacey - You've gotten rid of the error message, but you've put back the
spyware. Use the other links in Plun's original message to remove
newdotnet.

You had a number of issues which are not necessarily connected. The error
message mentioning newdotnet is a very minor side-effect of removing
spyware--and a second scan (and clean) with Microsoft Antispyware should
have removed that message. The other problems were more significant.

I'd recommend using the rest of Plun's references to remove newdotnet and
probably other items from your machine, and then re-running Microsoft
Antispyware. I think you can get your machine cleaned up, and not have the
side-effects you were seeing.
