Help with search companion please

Hi,
I am new to XP, but not to windows. There are two problems (features?) in Search
Companion that is making my life miserable. First, I juggle a lot (and I mean A
LOT) of zip files every day, and when doing a "Search for files and folders"
Windows also opens the zipfiles to search inside. Is there a way to bypass this
function, and just to search for filenames, like previous Windows?

Secondly, when doing a search, Search companion insists on dialling my internet
connection. This forced me to disable the autodial feature in IE. I have a PPPoE
connection and it doesn't bother me too much if it dials (it remains on most of
the time anyway), but I want to be in control of when and where. Can this be
fixed?
