Windows XP Help with cmd

When i run cmd itll start with "c:\documents and settings\"name">

my question is how do i just run "c:" without going through documents and settings? I have a 2nd drive on my comp and i can just type "d:" and it'll open "d:>" which is what i want for the C drive

This is normal when you start CMD if you want to go to C drive type cd.. cd.. and then that will bring the C drive up.

CD = Change Directory

You can also type "cd\" to go to the root.
