Help Please, I love XP from a new converted lifetime Mas user

15 years on nothing but Macs, 5 months with XP - I'll take XP.

I really need some help. Here's the problem...

I freeze on start up or shortly after, it usually happens when I first engage any app or utility. Works fine in safe mode w/networking. For some reason, I have only one restore point and I'm unable to access it. I've run Advanced System Optimizer and everything seems to check out... I recently got a blue screen error - "Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" , after researching this, I reviewed my drivers that were not digitally signed and turned off four nonessential unsigned drivers... this didn't fix the problem... I just ran the included Toshiba PC Diagnostic Tool (seems quite basic) and passed.

Lastly, I'm the only person who uses this laptop. In the Documents and Settings folder I have the following six folders. Administrator, Administrator. KEITH, Administrator.KEITH.000, All Users, KD, Owner. When I start in safe mode I'm given the choice of choosing/clicking Administrator or KD. When I start up in the usual method I'm given one choice, KD. Is this the problem?... should I have so many files in Docs and Settings if I'm the only one who uses this laptop?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks.

PS. Love my Toshiba Satellite (Apple DOESN'T want to interview me for their next TV spot)

Administrator.KEITH.000 = UserName.ComputerName.000 and was probably created
because Administrator. KEITH existed. Administrator. KEITH was probably
created because Administrator existed.

See these...

Duplicate profile folders exist under the "Documents and Settings" folder

For Documents and Settings.000 See this thread

HOW TO: Restore a User Profile in Windows 2000

-----

If you lose Full Control permissions to your profile folder, in the
%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings folder, Windows 2000 and Windows XP
will create a new one the next time you log on. The new profile is named:

UserName - if the older profile was deleted.

UserName.ComputerName - if the old profile exists.

UserName.ComputerName.000 - if UserName.ComputerName exists.

UserName.ComputerName.001 - if UserName.ComputerName.000 exists.
