help please, BSOD

HJA

Hello,

I had a computer which gave a BSOD "BAD_POOL_HEADER" at random. I replaced
everything (VGA, Memory, HDD) but the error kept coming. So I decided to buy
a new mobo, processor, vga and sata disk since I couldn't find the error. To
test the memory I've run memtest +24hours (2GB DDR333), which gave no error.

You guess it; I'm now getting again BSOD errors (BAD_POOL_HEADER,
IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL) and it is driving me completely nuts. I've updated
all the drivers, removed the one installed PCI card (modem), removed all the
usb, so everthing.

The only thing I can guess that it has to with the XP Pro installation.
I first installed Windows XP Pro SP1 (dutch) and than later installed SP2.
Before uninstalling SP2, does anybody have a suggestion?

Greetings,
HJA

For starters post the full text of the BSOD error message and secondly
post copies of the Error Reports in Event Viewer at or around the time
the BSOD occurs. Which language version of Windows XP do you wish to
use?

Make sure you have a boot or restore disk.

I suggest you Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should
help by allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click
on the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced,
StartUp and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before
Automatically Restart.

Enable automatic restart on system failure after you have captured /
copied and pasted the message in a further post here.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message(email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. This will paste the info from the Event Viewer error Report
complete with links into the message. Make sure this is the first paste
after exiting from Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.
