HELP! Ntfs.sys Missing or Corrupt

G

Grace

My computer has come up with a message stating that the
Ntfs.sys file is missing or corrupt. The same message
stated to run the windows installation disc and to press r
for the recovery console.

After going through the recovery console and copying the
file from the installation disc back into the folder of
the orignial file, the computer was still giving me the
message that the Ntfs.sys file was still missing or
corrupt.

Finally, I decided to run Windows XP setup again so that
windows could try and replace any corrupt files, however
during setup the following files were unable to be copied:

dmio.sys
msident.dll
msidntld.dll
cga80737.fon
cga80869.fon
dsauth.dll
dsclient.hlp
filemgmt.dll
scrrun.dll
scsidev.inf
g200.inf
i749nt5.inf
181xnt5.inf
mwavmadml.inf
odex132.dll
atapi.sys
disk.sys
classpnp.sys
ieuinit.inf
secdrv.sys
guitrn.dll
msxbde40.dll
netklsi.inf
ntkrnlpa.exe

Afterwards, Windows does not complete the setup stating
that the Ntfs.sys file is still missing or corrupt.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks
