HELP @*$%!! IE 6

Hi

Can anyone help me here? When ever I enter a website address into the
Address box and press enter (return) nothing happens. My hard drive grinds,
and then NOTHING is displayed. The modem icons on the bottom right will flash.

If I use the favourites menu, I CAN load the pages, any ideas as this is
driving me NUTS!!

I have IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr. 050301-1519.

My PC specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 2800+ 1.80GHz

Windows XP with SP2 (2002 version)

480 MB of Ram

First, sounds to me like Spyware/Virus might be a root cause. Second, it
could be that network permissions are preventing you browser from using Port
80. Third, it could be that you've updated your network card drivers and
maybe need to roll them back.

All of the above are simply from my own experiences. Good luck.

Dave,
After reading several posts the culprit appears to be one of the latest
updates (KB908531). If you go to add/remove programs, click on show updates,
then delete this update it should fix your system. It fixed mine.
