Windows XP HDD not detected

It just stops with a black screen. When I restart it says HDD not detected. If I switch off and on a few times sometimes it works OK. Sometimes I have to go into F2 (settup) and press F9 (default settings) and F10 (save and restart).


Can anyone explain why and/or how I can prevent this?

Can you provide us with some more information please

Type of computer your using?
Operating system you have installed?

Type of Hard drive it is ie

SATA or IDE

It may all be of some relevance to the problem ;)
