Having Trouble with the XP Firewall

Hi Heidi :
1) Windows Firewall has to be configured to allow you to access... go to
Start|Settings|Control Pannel|Network Connections|Local Area
Network,..Properties|Advanced|Settings|Services....
Check Remote Desktop|go to Modify|type your IP number which can be found
double clicking in Network Connections|Compatability..
you may or may not need to check or add other services.
To better understand, read in ICF tab, more about....Secure Internet
Connection..

2) Is Remote Acces on your boss' computer configured?...
Start|Settings|Control Pannel|System|Remote Acces.....
Read variable settings in Start|Help and Support|Type.. Remote Acces...

3) Also, Remote Acces Service has to be started...In Desktop My PC|right
mouse button|Administer|Services and Applications|Services|Automatic remote
acces connection administrator|Start.
Hope this helps.

I was hoping someone could help me with a problem I'm having with networking
when the Internet Connection Firewall Feature in Windows XP is installed.

There are two computers in our small home office system. When the latest
BlasterWorm affected my boss' computer, he discovered and enabled the ICF
Feature on his XP. However, since that has happened, my computer (a Windows
ME) has been unable to network with his computer, although his XP can still
read my computer.

I am a little better than a moron when it comes to this sort of stuff, so
any response can be given to me like I'm a six year old and I will not at
all be offended.

Thanks in advance!

Heidi

A firewall acts like a gateway, allowing outbound traffic through but
rejecting inbound traffic.
i.e. it firewalls or blocks incoming packets whether from a worm or from
your network.

You need to clean all computers in your network and put up a firewall at
your internet connection
