Having trouble viewing "Links" bar for Favorites

N

noelle34

Running IE6 on XP home edition. I've right clicked on the toolbar and
made sure that the Links bar was checked yet the links bar doesn't show
up. I have "LOCK THE TOOLBARS" unchecked, so I'm not really sure why it
is not coming up. Any help... let me know if you need more info.

thanks!

I have not heard of the Links Bar having this problem but it is common
with the Address Bar.
Read the fix below and apply it to the Links Bar instead of the
Address Bar.

If you see the smallest piece of the Address Bar (usually the name)
then stretch the Address bar back to a normal size and move it if
necessary. If the Button Bar or some other bar is to the right of it,
you may want to move that to a different position first.

Don't forget to ensure "Lock the Toolbars" is unchecked in
View-Toolbars.

You can alternatively reset the Address Bar.
Make up a file from the lines below. Copy into a file called fix.reg
which should be created in Notepad. Do not retype, copy in case of
errors. The 1st line in the file is the line REGEDIT4
Make sure your mail or news reader does not add any spaces to the end
of a line.
Ensure the long line does not wrap at the space in "Internet Explorer"
The last line must be blank.
Right-click fix.reg and select Merge

-----copy below this line fix.reg------------
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser]
"ITBarLayout"=-
//Clear the toolbar positioning to reset Address Bar etc.

---- end file above here
