Hard Lock-up

My Sony Laptop is about 18 months old now. It has all the
Windows updates (Xp-Home). It will normally lock-up two
to three times during a 8 hour day. I have not been able
to link it to any one program. It hard locks the key-
board, the mouse and touch pad. the only way to get it
back is rebooting by holding down the main power switch.
It gives no error messages. Do you have any suggestions
or program that I can run to find out what is wrong. I
use this computer for work and cannot have it in the
repair shop for to long.


Any help would be greatly appreciated

Most such freezes -- where mouse and keyboard lock and everything is
frozen -- are video issues. I'd start there.
