I just installed a 2nd hard drive on my computer. I can find it in the device maneger and it is working proprely, but it does not appear as a drive next my original drive in the "My Computer" screen. What happened?

Hello
You will need to boot with a bootdisk and partition it and then you will be
able to see it and you can format it from within My Computer by right
clicking on it and format it.
You can boot from your XP cd and partition and format it too, as long as you
have a XP cd (not restore disk)

Hi

Right click My Computer/Manage/disk management
In the right lower pane, you can see the slave drive (drive 1), right click on it and select initialize drive, click apply and OK
Right click on the volume adjacent to the drive1, you can now assign a drive letter to the drive, format and partition the drive to your desire

Hope it helps

Pete
