If you use Word 2003 as your email editor, it should convert the : ) to
something that looks more like a smiley face.
Beyond that - don't bother. There are a lot of spyware-ridden crapplications
out there that will give you smiley faces, and you should avoid them like
the plague. E-mail is meant for text anyway.
