Hangs at Starting Windows 2000 screen

My system worked fine yesterday, but today it hangs at the white start up
screen. I tried boot disks, it also hangs on that start up. I tried
reinstalling, when it reboots it hangs on the blue "set up is sarting
windows 2000" screen. The only thing is today starts back to standard time.
I am going to let it sit on that screen for a long time, as it could just be
a really slow load.

Sounds like you may need to do a couple of things, like
use disk cleanup, go to start menu, all programs,
accessories, system tools, then highlight disk cleanup.
make sure when in this program you only have temporary
internet files check and temporary file, before clicking
OK. this will help speed up your computer. Then use disk
defragmenter after. Also use scan disk. Thanks, rony...

Okay, I've given it some time, and it is booting. Exept it is taking about
30 minutes plus to boot. Win98 boots normally. Any ideas?

I think i may know what your problem is, My friend had
this same problem until i updated all his drivers with
the latest ones. He had a new computer but it was running
very , very slow. But when we updated the drivers it ran
very, very fast. If you don't know how to do this go to
Microsoft windows site and type in a search help
installing drivers? or something in that area. hope this
helps you, Rony....

I'm going to give the defrag a try. It actually took over an hour to boot,
that's why I thought it was hanging. It was very sluggish until every last
item loaded. Then it seemed to run normally. Thanks for the suggestions...
