Hangs after login

OK this is going to be an easy one for someone, just not me.

Server 2000 SP4
Can start in safe mode network and login. Scanned for virus - none - scanned
for spyware none found. Installed all updates.

If anyone logins at the server in the normal mode the system locks hard.
Nothing in the event log. If you do not login the server runs and all works.
You have to login for the hard lock to happen. It takes about 3 minutes
before it happens.

What is happening after login that could be causing this problem?

Sounds like some driver corruption. Start with the graphics adapter. Check
Event Viewer for errors.
