Hello,

I had to reload XP after getting reboot software from
Microsoft site, I installed all window updates, but I
lost my files (photo's, etc.) I would like to get them
back, but....more importantly I have lost Office (Word,
Excel, Powerpoint)capablity. I try to reload Office from
CD but computer responds that "operating system is not
presently configured to run this application" /...huh ???

Can you say more about what the 'reboot' software you got from Microsoft?

When you 'reloaded' XP, did you format the disk or a 'repair' install? Or
an 'Upgrade' install?

The CD from which you're trying to reload Office is a MS Office install CD?
If so, are you getting the error message when the CD attempts to autorun?
