hacked computer has files I cannot delete

Ted

I have a Windows XP Pro computer that has been hacked to
share music files. I have been trying to delete the
files / folders on the hard drive but keep getting the
message "Cannot delete file: cannot read from source file
or disk" I can get properties ok , but not delete. If I
shut down and boot in safe mode the same thing happens.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks up front
Ted
