"Group similar taskbar buttons" option missing

Hi, i just got a newly installed windows xp desktop at my office. And am
having some problems getting the "group similar taskbar buttons" to work.
Infact the option is missing when i right click the taskbar and select
Properties and click the Taskbar tab the option is not there! I have been
trying all sorts of ways to teh thsi to work from editing following registry
keys:
- TaskbarGlomming
- TaskbarGroupSize

To playing with teh Group Plicy (GPEDIT.MSC).

But nothing seems to work.

Does any one have any ideer how to get this option. I am amayzed the the guy
how has install the pc managed to no get this in.
