Group Policy work around

C

Cody

Hello freinds:

I am trying to share a local printer, but I am not able to turn on "File and
Print sharing" on my laptop because of the domain group policy at my work.
Is there any way to share the printer hooked up to my laptop without having
to disjoin the domain?

I have even tried enabling "file and print sharing" on the local machine
group policy, but I still cannot check the the box for "file and print
sharing" on the network adapter, and I cannot turn of the firewll because of
group policy.

Thanks.

This would be something to discuss with your domain admin. Circumventing
established security procedures tends to get one fired or disciplined.

These restrictions have been put in place for a reason. It would be
inappropriate for us to advise you on how to circumvent corporate
policies. There are a lot of reasons for imposing restrictions like
these, HIPAA being a big one.....

You need to work your request through the chain of command to I.T. to
see if you can justify it...
