Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt. And it has no correlation to the
question I asked.

"Anyone want to give MS more money to fix the inherent problems of
their OS?"

Possibly because the question you asked doesn't make sense. No, not a bit.

Micros~1 is not proposing a solution to their own vulnerabilities - they are
proposing a solution to the ignorance of their users and the malovelence of
others.

Change "fix" to "protect you from."

Too bad that Juppy didn't mean that!
Micros~1 is not proposing a solution to their own vulnerabilities -

They are proposing protection from exploitation of their
vulnerabilities. If they actually fixed the vulnerabilities, they
wouldn't get you to resubscribe to the NoOne Cares subscription!
they are proposing a solution to the ignorance of their users and the

You should work for MS Marketing.

Thanks for the tip, so talk like you know nothing and get free support.

No, that was lame. Explain the facts, don't get angry or abusive, don't
complain, just give the facts and specific details about what you've
already done - in a positive tone.

Oh, sorry. OK, the OS I use is Linux. It doesn't require a firewall, nor

Doubtful. Looks like a propogation glitch probably at adelphia.net
newsserver(s), they all have different message IDs and the path is not
consistent.

Mandrake 10.1 is what I use on this particular box and it comes with the
firewall turned off by default.

A. Yes it is. It's called "Top Posting" and frowned on by the Usenet
community.
Q. But isn't that backasswards?
A. If their reply comes BEFORE what they are quoting, they probably use
Outlook Express under Windoze.
Q. How can I tell what OS a Usenet poster runs?

It was stuck in my Outbox, so I decided to edit it. I did but when I
tried to send itIt came up with an error that it couldn't be deleted.
So I tried sending it again, and again . . . . finally I just closed it
out and it sent one more copy.

And you are recommending that average users should call these numbers,
and take the risk of having to pay $245? Are you offering to pay if
their calls don't end up being free?

Why would you ask if I was recommending anything - At no point in this
thread have I advocated/recommended anything except that I get quality
support and have not been charged for it in many years.

Sorry what are you taking about, how did you come to this conclusion? Oh no,
please you've confused me with someone whose interested. Also where's the
free support section on the webpage you stated? It's OK that's rhetorical...

By the way I should have got nary and abusive after I explained that facts
and someone wanted money to fix their very own stuff ups. Which is what this
threads about, not the glorious free support your diplomacy got you. Now go
defecate it will clear that facial expression up Geythos.

You were interested enough to post and troll. It's obvious you resort to

Yet you are not recommending the same method for others to follow! Why

Yet you are not recommending the same method for others to follow! Why
is that?

I posted how I get support and that it didn't cost me anything. The
reason for it was that many people don't know about the other support
options and have no idea that if it's a MS problem, not a user created
problem, that MS will not charge you for it.

It's up to the MS technicians discretion as to charge/not-charge and
that being a good/polite customer goes a long way to not being charged.

Oh, lame troll, I never posted that support was free - only that I was
not charged for it during the last several years of using it. I didn't
really expect a troll like you to understand that, since I don't expect
you to be able to follow a discussion or actually understand what you
are reading.
