"(A UK) IT consultant... added: "Great idea - MS get to turn their
security bugs into a revenue stream... Perhaps it should be more
correctly renamed 'No one cares'."

LOL! Anyone putting total trust in MS for the computer system security
needs there head examined, at the very least.

"...inherent problems of their OS?"
Better said as "...inherent problems of every OS?"
Perhaps before casting your quick judgement again you should read a little
more:
http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/2005/may05/05-13WindowsOneCarePR.asp

What OS has no need of a firewall?
What OS has no need of anti virus protection?
And more...

This appears to be geared to less experienced users who can use help
maintaining their computers.
Of course users can choose to use or not use the service and still maintain
the safety and security of their computers.
But for your FUD to work, some of these facts need to be ignored...or did
you simply not know?

What OS has no need of a firewall?

The real question is who needs a Microsoft firewall. Fools that put
their trust in MS to protect them, after seeing what MS's security
record has been thoughout the years!

How long has MS been selling OS's? Decades? And how long has MS taken
security seriously? A few years!
What OS has no need of anti virus protection?

The real question is who needs MSAV to protect them from viruses written
to exploit the all the wholes in MS's OSs?! Fools that place all there
faith in one company that has a horrible security track record!

Mozilla just patched up two security holes in their browser in a the
span of about a week. MS has taken over six months to patch up its
holes.
And more...

And more nonsense! MS can't be trusted. It's bad enough to have to
keep on adding patches to the MS OS quilt, now MS wants people to
subscribe to another layer of MicroBS which will have its own holes?

MS is just the fattest most unliked target that can't help but get hit!
This appears to be geared to less experienced users who can use help
maintaining their computers.

LOL! Just paint a big fat target on all the MicroTurkeys!
Of course users can choose to use or not use the service and still
maintain the safety and security of their computers.

Yep! Why trust MS, the people that brought us alot of the security
holes that are exploited by malware writers today?!
But for your FUD to work, some of these facts need to be ignored...or
did you simply not know?

"'...inherent problems of their OS?' Better said as '...inherent
problems of every OS?'"

Why would that be better? Is NoOne Cares being written to protect any
other OS other than MS's OS?

So there really was no FUD in my question. All you did was blather on,
and made unconnected assumptions, and didn't bother to actually answer
the question!

The only FUD here is Juppy FUD!

Answer the effin' question posed, instead of trying to changed the
effin' subject!

Are you gonna pay MS a subscription to further protect your MS OS?

Back to your childish games of changing the words of others!

I have one son who, if I died tomorrow, would not be able to maintain his
own computer! All he wants to do is use it. And he may use it to download
from Kazaa. I don't know. But if something like this were to help him I
think it would be great.

What OS has no need of a firewall?

My OS doesn't need a firewall. If I don't have any services running that
connect to the Net, then I don't need a firewall because there are no
services that an attacker can hack into. Besides, I have the ability to set
what ip addresses are allowed access to my computer should I have any
services that I want to run. All a firewall does is masquerade an ip
address behind the firewall. With Windoze this is critical to do, because
the system is so insecure. I'd even recommend a software firewall for
Windoze just to keep track of all the trojans one can so easily pickup with
Windoze that will try to call out from your computer. My OS is immune to
trojans and hence not a worry.
What OS has no need of anti virus protection?

My OS doesn't have any anti virus protection and doesn't need any.

Now we know what you think of less experienced users.
You feel they are "MicroTurkeys"
I thought you already knew, people are not born experts in anything
including computers.

You also say "The real question is..."
If you thought such, you would have said as much.
But you did not ask that question.
It seems you know little about the original question asked by the OP.

"Answer the effin' question posed, instead of trying to changed the effin'
subject!"
I did answer the question.
Apparently in your blind hate of anything Microsoft you missed it.
Read the last paragraph of my post for the first time, particularly the
part"...less experienced users..."
If you want more specifics, you should wait until the service is closer to
release with more facts known.
No one can give an exact answer on a product with so little information
available...except those with blind prejudice.

Oh, sorry. OK, the OS I use is Linux. It doesn't require a firewall, nor
anti-virus software and I run neither on my Linux box.

Actually it would be eXPerienced users that used NoOne Cares.
I thought you already knew, people are not born experts in anything

LOL! It's like all the morons running around outside in Wash.DC the
other day over a Cesna.

It was hardly an explosive threat. Had it been a threat, more than
likely would have been Biological, and running around outside would be
the last thing you'd want to do.

Only a moron would want to protect themselves with software made by the
same company as the OS they are trying to protect.

You also say "The real question is..."
If you thought such, you would have said as much.

I was restating your question, not mine.

Juppy: What OS has no need of a firewall?

Kurt: The real question is who needs a Microsoft firewall. Fools that
put
their trust in MS to protect them, after seeing what MS's security
record has been thoughout the years!

See! But you have to spin things away from the real subject of does
anyone really want to pay MS more money to protect Windows!
But you did not ask that question.
It seems you know little about the original question asked by the OP.

I am the OP! You are totally effin' delusional!

Thank you for proving that you will deny reality in the irrational
defense of MS!
"Answer the effin' question posed, instead of trying to changed the

I did answer the question.

No, You did not.
Apparently in your blind hate of anything Microsoft you missed it.
LOL!

the part"...less experienced users..."

The question wasn't who is this NoOne Cares software geared towards!
If you want more specifics, you should wait until the service is
closer to release with more facts known.

I want people's opinions if they are willing to pay MS even move money
to protect Windows! I could care less what you and MS are willing to BS
about!
No one can give an exact answer on a product with so little
information available...except those with blind prejudice.

More bullsh*t.

Read my question again. I wasn't asking for information about MS's
stupid security product!

But in your blind devotion to a scumbag corporation you failed to see
that, and went into evasion mode to protect your beloved MS!
