global conversion from html to htm extension in FP2003

Ian Zuiring

I need to covert a medium sized web site from html extensions to htm
extensions using FP 2003.

Can this be done without breaking several thousand links? One link at a
time rename is not an option since the site is just too large.

Thanks in advance...

| Why do you need to do this? I'm just curious.

The customer wanted the site to be consistent with his "intranet" which has
only htm extensions. I don't debate the guy who writes me the check so I
don't fully know what his reason is either. -Ian

Oh. Sometimes when I tell them how much extra it will cost to do this, and
point out that it was not in the original contract, they reconsider. But I
can see the logic of this. Good luck fixing all those broken links. I hope
you have not used something like an all-javascript menu....

If the site is 100% designed and managed with FP and no 3rd party JavaScript, then you should have
any problems, but you will need to rename each page individually.

especially when there's no real reason to do it....charge him a luxury "a"-retentive fee

You could write a macro to do this pretty easily.
