Get external data, link tables ODBC stopped working

When I select the ()ODBC database option when using the 'get external data'
import/link table wizard nothing happens.

It has been working fine until about a month ago, its just stopped working,
the odbc selection is still there in the list, it's just when you click on it
nothing happens, if I use Access or Excel or any other source they all work,
it's just the pop up with the ODBC selection no longer appears, it makes no
sense.

Hi, the data is from SQl but after looking at other threads it appears the
lastest update to Norton has caused a problem. I have unchecked the turn on
scanning microsoft documents in the antivirus and the link to table now works
using ODBC

I was going to export data but I was just doing some investigations, I hope
Norton get their package fixed.

Cheers, Chris I do turn it on again, it's just a nuisance factor. I remember
the days of the Word Macro Virus'

Thanks

Norton hasn't fixed it for years now through several versions, so don't
expect them to anytime soon. When you're finished with the ODBC wizard, turn
the Norton Office plug-in back on so you're protected again. Only turn it
off prior to working with the ODBC wizard.

What is the origin of the ODBC data? Most everything you can just import
without fooling with the ODBC setup.
