GeForce problem

Brett

I recently installed a 3D graphics card and monitor(an
nVidia Geforce2 MX400 connected to an LG 1510S TFT)
replacing a basic graphics card and a monitor that was
so old it couldn't display over 800*600

Everything seemed to go according to plan until I
restarted my PC and the screen goes blank when windows
loads. The only way round this is to restart in safe
mode and disable the graphics card, then restart. This
leaves me no better off than before I bought the new
stuff.

I've checked all the obvious things, the drivers are up
to date etc, the support team for the graphics card
aren't helping and Windows Help and Support Centre
doesn't help either

any ideas???
much appreciated

SORTED
I formatted the hard drive and started from scratch and
still had the problem, I tried every driver set I could
find (over 20) from several sources and still nothing.

I eventually noticed that the IRQ setting for my AGP port
came up in the BIOS startup screen (which flashes past so
quick I hadn't noticed it before)was different compared
with what Windows thought it was.

Couldn't find any way to change the IRQ for the AGP slot
in the BIOS, so I just tried manualy setting the IRQ's
for the PCI ports, which bizarrely sorted the problem out

I now have a fully functioning graphics card and couldn't
be happier, but if any technical guru's reading this, can
explain if this was just me being stupid or if this is as
weird as it seems to me
