FrontPage 98 and XP Home

Recently upgraded computer system from 98SE to XP Home. Installed FrontPage
98 (without personal web server) and receive the following error message:

FrontPage 98 requires 32-bit TCP/IP networking. You do not have 32-bit
TCP/IP networking installed. Would you like to see help on how to install it?

Clicking OK opens a FrontPage Networking Help window. From there you are
directed to the Network Connections window.

Do I install the Microsoft TCP/IP version 6 protocol? What other
considerations are there for running FP 98 with XP Home?

Thanks,

Bryan

No that version 6 is not what is being referred to. You set your Network
adapter to have File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks and Client for
Microsoft Networks and make sure the TCP\IP Protocol is installed.

The settings you have suggested were already enabled / installed. What else
should I consider? I found article ID 194357, which describes the error, but
is not applicable, as OS is different.

Wow. You do not have a Win.com anywhere do you? It may be this old version
does not work in Windows XP. I bet if you had installed it in Windows 98 and
upgraded to Windows XP the installation would tell you that.
