I am a novice and building a site. I have built 4 pages in the "table"
context. They are all on the "index" page. I don't know how to make the
"pages" separate, or do they? Do you have to divide the sections you want to
make different pages or do they separate after you go online? I want one to
be the "home page", one to be another page and so on. How do you make them
do that? I'm really overwhelmed at this point so I need step by step
directions on how this is done. Thank you in advance and please hurry!!!
lol!

Pages in a table?
No...you put tables on a page...not the other way 'round.

You create new pages within a web.

I'm gonna guess you have not create a web, but are working with a loose
page.

Open FP
File | New ... create a web here...use a template to get your feet wet.

Hurry? You have a lot to learn...if you hurry you're gonna get frustrated
and give up.

Yes, you are right it is the other way around and I did do what you said. The
problem is...all my information is on that one page. I know how to do the
templates, but chose the "table" route as it seemed easier to set up the
whole website and keep things in the order I wanted them to stay in. Now, I
need to know how to separate the information I have on the page. The page is
one big one with a big table 4 wide columns with 3/4 wide rows. I have all
the info. on the one table/page. How do I separate the columns and rows to
fit into 4 different pages? Or...do the hyperli8nks within the website do the
separation of pages?

Is what I'm asking impossible or am I just going about the set-up wrong? The
book for frontpage 2000 says I can build a website using a "table" in the
"index" page.

This is a bit difficult to explain without actually doing it .

What you need is several pages, each with its own content. Then on the main
page - usually index.html - add links to each of the several pages

These links do not need to be in a table, although they can be.

If you have published your first attempt, please post a link to it. If not,
can you post the code itself (if it is not too large)

Thank you! THATS what I needed to know! Phew! I think I understand what you are saying. Anyway, now I know I need to do it in a completely different way. I can just copy everything onto each page can't I?

You may be able to copy/paste content of the old table cells to new tables
on new pages...just depends on if you have stuff that needs to be re-sized
in those tables or not. If it's just text you'll have no problem, but if
you have images you may need them bigger or smaller or what have you you'll
need to do some additional work.
