frmcache.dat invalid

When adding a date (birthday) to an Outlook contact and trying to save it, I
get an error message that the form cache file 'frmcache.dat' file is not
valid. I tried to follow the instructions given in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;171372
but when I try to delete the frmcache.dat file, it says that access is
denied.
How can I delete this file or are there other solutions to solve the date
issue?

Was Outlook closed at the time, and did you make sure outlook.exe was *not*
running in the background?

Did you close Outlook before attempting to delete the fmrcache.dat file?
