I printed out your directions for uninstalling MAS.
************************************************
Hello Vic,
Whatever you do, (installing and updateting or unistalling) always as a
administrator.

This needs to be run in safe mode.

Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. Click Microsoft AntiSpyware and
click Change. Click Next, and then click Remove.

In Windows Programs files, delete all the sub-directorys and the
folder(MSAS) .

Delete in Windows\system 32 :
GcColetion.dll
Hashlib.dll
GcUnCompress.dll
GcTypLibA.tbl
GcAntiSpywareLib.dll
GcUserData.gcg

In Windows\Downloaded Installations, any reference about MSAS.

You can use Ccleaner
http://www.ccleaner.com

Run the above remover in safe mode with system restore tuned off then
Ccleaner on all 3 settings(windows, apps & issues) and clear anything found
reboot and see if it still exists.

Done
*************************************************
I find GCAntispyware.dll and GcUserData.gcg in program files, not in
system 32.

In Windows\dowladed I find 2 items with long numbers, referring to
Microsoft, so I guess that would have to be deleted. Sorry, but I am not
computer savy, so trying to do this is all new to me.

Can U also tell me exactly how I get to Safe Mode to do this, and do I
download the CC before doing anything, and then run it after I have deleted
everything while I am still in safe mode?

Thanx for your help.....:)

Yes, I run XP at home. I have Microsoft Windows all updated and I also use
Nortons. Right now I just have the Beta 1. I will copy all this and print it
out and will try doing it after supper. I knew U had to do the F8, but didn't
know what option to use. God I hate being a "puter dummy". If ya don't hear
from me, ya know I screwed it up and blew up my machine.

I truly appreciate your help, nice to know someone knows what they are
doing....LOL Again, my sincere thanx...:)

Hi JJ,
Rigth, Download CCleaner, first
I guess your are using XP
To get into the Windows 2000 / XP Safe mode, as the computer is booting
press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced
Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and
press your Enter key.
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm

In Safe-Mode, go to Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. Click Microsoft
AntiSpyware and click Remove.
In Windows Programs files, delete all the sub-directorys and the folder
(MSAS) .
In Windows\dowladed, when you point with your mouse, to the folders, you
will be know wich one belong to MSAS, the small window read files:MSAS.msi
delete only that one. If your are insecure, don't worry. Let CCleaner do the
job for you.
Now use CCleaner
Run the above remover in safe mode
Ccleaner on all 3 settings(windows, apps & issues) and clear anything found.
Do the above twice.
Accept to back up the info when you are in Issues.
reboot
Good luck

Hi JJ,

Is no my place to ask you why do you want to uninstall BETA, but if is
planing to install BETA 2, I undesrtand some users went to install on top of
the old one. Either way some users find problems, some other no. Rember Beta
2 still is a BETA.

Any way, good luck

Hi Engel..It worked very well, thanx again. I want to see what happens when
Microsoft gets this thing up and running properly, as I find alot of problems
with this MAS. Maybe once it is out of Beta, the bugs will be gone.

Again, have a great evening, and I really appreciated your help, it made
things go much easier then me trying to figure it out...:)
