My email format is allowing me to change the font color on all messages
EXCEPT in reply. The ability to change the font color in reply messages is
now grayed out. Why and how can I change that?

Are you replying from the Inbox folder? Can you post a screenshot of an
affected message somewhere? xsolive.com has an outlook screenshot library
you can use if you don't have somewhere to upload it.
