Font colors in replies not standard or theme colors???

My font color for replies changes as the number of replies to an e-mail
increase. That's fine. When I copy some text from a previous e-mail in the
string, and paste it in my current reply, it retains the font color from the
previous e-mail. Also not unexpected.

What's driving me nuts is when I try to change that pasted text's font color
to match the font color of my current reply. I select the text, go to the
font color button, and can't find a color to match my current reply font
color. It's not the automatic color, it's not a standard color, and it's not
a theme color. I have to guess what it is in a custom color, and I'm not
great at that.

How can I get the reply font color as a selection on the font color button?

Minor little thing, but it annoys me every time it happens, so I thought I'd
ask the experts!

go to tools, options, mail format, stationery and fonts - you have selected
to pick a new color with each reply.

Why not use the format paste button? Select the text with the format you
like and paint it over the text you want to change.

Or use the paste smarttag to match destination formatting.

I do like the feature of a new color font for each reply. And after I paste
in a phrase or something from a previous reply, I can select all the text and
choose a new color for the entire selection (inluding my signature block).

What I really don't understand is why the "pick a new color for replies"
feature picks colors that aren't available when you click on the font color
button. Is there a way to ensure that when you get a new color for a reply
and need to match it, the reply font color is on the font color button,
either under "standard colors", "theme colors", or "recently used colors"?
