Floating dialogue box alert for new mail?

In Outlook I'm used to more than an audible alert (I have my speakers off
most of the time). How can I make mail display the little translucent box
with the subject/sender/first line from an incoming email in the bottom right
hand corner of my screen?

Please don't tell me this feature doesn't exist in Windows Mail.

I'm running Windows Mail on a Dell laptop with Vista. Any help is
appreciated.

That feature doesn't exist in Windows Mail.
I understand that if you upgrade to Windows Live Mail and add the
module for Windows Messenger, then you will have that feature.
