email alert pops up continually

I'm on a laptop with vista and microsoft windows mail - I constantly get
this pop up box that says in order to use this alert I have to fill out the
properties for the following email address. I have no idea what this is for
and I dont' want the alert - is there a way to turn it off?

What pop up box? There is no pop up box in your message. Windows Mail does
not issuer alerts.

Oh, wait. Perhaps I spoke too soon. Just put that in there and try again. If
you see something then it might be fixed.
